Creative Writing
In 2010, I was fortunate to find a wonderful writing teacher, Donald Freed, and joined his weekly creative writing seminar. Since then I’ve written essays, short stories, poetry and (financial rock) songs.
Here are some of my favorites:

Women, Let’s Talk About Money
“I’m not a math person.” “I’m not a numbers person.” “I’m bad with money.”
Sound familiar?
As a wealth advisor, I hear statements like this all the time from women, regardless of their age.

5 Powerful Lessons from Jiu-Jitsu that Increased My Financial Confidence
It all started in 2009, a couple of years after beginning my career in finance.

No Regret Insurance
Imagine a world in which we could own a personal insurance policy that protected us from regret...

Real Affluence
"Time is money." You've heard this slogan before. Benjamin Franklin first used it in 1748 as a reminder to workers that time spent not working is time spent not making money. Today, it has become a belief, a credo; people organize their lives around this equation: Time = Money.

The Prison of Perfectionism
I’m writing to you from prison. You may have heard of this place: It’s called Perfectionism.

The Therapist
October in Georgia is a mosaic of orange, green, yellow, brown, red—of ash, birch, gum, oak, and evergreen trees that look down like elders onto the khaki pants, pastel prints, boat shoes, bourbon, and biscuits on the earth below. The elder trees nod and wave as the people bow their heads respectfully, “Yes, sir. No, ma’am—” for they have chosen to live among the great oaks and evergreens, in a place where manners and pride are celebrated and passed down like Granddaddy’s shotguns.
